TYPES OF WORK

DLA Piper has the following main areas of work: Corporate; Employment, Pensions & Benefits; Finance & Projects; Litigation & Regulatory; Real Estate; and Technology, Media & Commercial.

WHO SHOULD APPLY

DLA Piper will have approximately 100 vacancies fortraining contracts commencing in 2011. We welcome applications from students with either a law or non-law background who have a minimum of 3 Bs at A Level (or equivalent) and expect, or have achieved a 2.1 degree classification.  There is no 'standard' DLA Piper trainee, however we do look for good communicators and team players.  As well as this, in line with our main focus of work, a keen interest in the corporate world is essential - as is an appetite for life!

 

TRAINING PROGRAMME

From induction to qualification and beyond, DLA Piper ensures that its employees develop the necessary skills and knowledge to survive in a busy client-driven environment. Trainees complete four six month seats during the course of their training contract. If you want responsibility, we will give you as much as you can handle and your progress will be monitored through regular reviews and feedback.

VACATION SCHEMES

We operate a formal summer scheme, which runs between June and August each year.  The schemes run for two weeks and allow a thorough insight into DLA Piper. There are approximately 200 places available nationwide. Applications should be made via our online application form and the closing date for summer 2009 is 31 January 2009.
